XTERRA Vashon Island is a part of the XTERRA America Tour. Be prepared for a challenging day of swimming, biking and trail running! Vashon Island is a great place to spend the whole weekend away from the hustle and hassle of the city. The XTERRA Vashon Island is one of the XTERRA Points Series Events in the Pacific Northwest. XTERRA Vashon Island puts you back on the mountain bike. Before you get to the start, enjoy the ferry on to Vashon and enjoy the beauty of the Sound. Start with an 800M swim in Quartermaster Harbor, which is routinely 65 degrees in open salt water. Transfer to your bike, starting on paved roads before hitting the trail with great singletrack trails and awesome views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, and Tacoma. Take the trail a second loop, for a total of 14 miles. Then follow the 6K trail run up a long, ascent into the trails for single track running, back down to the finish line. Keep an eye for an eagle or two.
